Sorry. The text of this question got botched because I was trying to present simple HTML examples and the comment system kept parsing the HTML.

But this is what I am looking for the full-width text box to do. It would be especially helpful to be able to use superscript and subscript references for special characters such as ®.

Okay, thanks for your response.

It makes sense that this is the type of functionality that would typically be handled with a plugin.
