ParticipantThanks Jason – and when you are ready for marking I’m happy to write a testimonial.

ParticipantAny idea when the Beta will go live? I am really loving it – so far I have managed all my customizations without touching the css. LIkely that will end soon but I am really impressed with what I can do so far.
One question – is there any way to leave the selections opened when editing the layout.
In order for me to change the text in a column and then see how it looks and change it again I have to Show elements options then click on columns, then edit content options, then make my change, save it, update the page, go and view the page and decide if I like what I did and then go back and do it all over again.
As soon as I click “update” everything closes – is there any way to default to leaving them open?

ParticipantJason – I’m a superuser who started with Jumpstart years ago and was happy with it but struggled (with a lot of your help) with getting my website the way I wanted it to be. After a break of a couple of years I’m back at website building (for myself) again – I want a professional website without paying through the nose for it – typical superuser.
I tried Genesis and Dynamik for a bit and then Types and Views bootstrap theme with the Layout plugin – both advertising easy customization and great results – and underwhelmed. I had almost given up and was starting to think I would have to buy a prebuilt theme when I saw that you had a beta of a new Jumpstart and thought I would give it a try.
All I can say is WOW for someone like me this theme is going to be dynamite. I have only been playing with it for a few hours but I was able to import the superuser demo and easily edit it. I know I’ll run into roadblocks but so far everything has been very intuitive. WIth the old Jumpstart I had to watch hours of videos and pester you with a ton of question but so far I’ve been able to find everything I needed.
Congratulations on a home run!

ParticipantThanks Jason.
What I would like is for them to keep relative widths – say 1/3 for the logo and 2/3 for the slider – I’ll see if I can do that. The site should be viewed by tablet or computer – its not set up (or appropriate) for smartphones.
sharonq
ParticipantOh… width parameter (duh)
sharonq
ParticipantOn a similar note – is it possible to get half size versions of the (very cool) JS icons?
sharonq
ParticipantI found it.
One of the things to keep in mind is if you change the way a feature works the documentation needs to be updated as well. I never thought to look in a different place.
You changed the way a major component is applied but did not change the documentation (i did check to be sure I was doing it correctly).
I know it seems small to you – but this created about 10 hours of work for me and broke my homepage when the upgrade happened.
Thanks for pointing out the “notify me” – not sure why I didn’t see it before.
sharonq
ParticipantJason – is the a way to set this up so we can be notified by email when you respond so I can get back to you more quickly?
sharonq
ParticipantThe problem is that it is not showing any options for which layout to select.

I have not deleted the slug. I didn’t change it before the error showed up. I have created new layouts to see if that will help but none are showing up.
There are 3 layouts available – the original and 2 new ones:

I removed (deleted) all plugins except TB ones to make sure there was no conflict (I love staging areas!).

ParticipantThis is the error I get if I try to use Layouts:
Invalid Layout ID: The layout ID currently assigned to this page no longer exists.
sharonq
ParticipantUpdated the Theme and this is fine now.

ParticipantThanks Jason.
I’m building a front page with a stack of columns etc and was hoping to change the full width background on different sections for a more Bootstrap look.
I can do it using the page content and divs but Builder is no nice and I thought if there was a field for a class somewhere on the section that would be great. Just wanted to double check that I wasn’t missing anything.
sharonq
ParticipantSorry – wasn’t clear.
I am ready style the sections with CSS but was looking for a way to add the class myself rather than use the defaults – that way if I reorder the blocks it won’t mess up my styles. Is this possible?
sharonq
ParticipantI found a plugin called Custom Javascript Editor – and am using it to load Masonry… and am trying to figure out if it is all I need to load the masonry script…
sharonq
ParticipantThanks – I’ll try that.
Is themeblvd_blog_meta(); defined somewhere? I’d just like to peek at it and see how that works.
