Shareaholic offers an option to pin images to Pinterest. If this is what you had in mind, you can see it in action at http://www.savacations.com.
That worked. Thank you.
Please remember that I am a “Super User” to borrow your term. Are you able to instruct me on how to copy files (in this case the content-page.php) from the parent to child theme? I can handle the rest…
On my V.1.x website, I am using a featured image (selected on the edit page) for all posts and pages, because either (posts or pages) could appear in a search result, and I like search results to be displayed with them. An example of a page (with a featured image selected) on my existing site can be found here http://www.savacations.com/destinations/argentina/argentina-accommodations/
The same page in v.2.0-RC-1 is displaying the featured image at the top of the page (in this case the Alvear Palace Hotel). See here http://www.savjumpstart2.com/destinations/argentina/argentina-accommodations/. I do not want it to appear on the live page, but would like to maintain a featured image if possible.
Hopefully, this clarifies what I am referring too.
I was able to resolve the sticky header issue and the mega menus set up issue.
The only other question that I have as of now is how to customize the hover color of the sub menu items.
I did not use any images, titles, or descriptions. Just a vector icon for the quote…
I tested out a number of testimonial plugins and found that creating a standard slider with custom slides (i.e. text placed within a bootstrap well) was the best way to go. This gave me much more flexibility and a better overall look than any of the plugins that I found.
I hope this helps…
I would concur with the above participant that your support is great!!
So, I updated both the layout builder and the short codes, and have made some progress. I am no longer having problems with the toggle between visual and text editors, and it was a good idea by you to revert back to the wordpress 4.0 scrolling feature.
The problem that I am still having is with the columns short code, in both the default template (pages) and the custom layouts (posts).
I am attaching images and links so you can see. The first example is of two images that I am trying to line up side-by-side in one_third columns (nested within the two-third column portion of a page) using the default page template in full width. No matter what I do, I cannot get the images to appear side by side now.
Here is how it looked prior to my upgrades (and how I want it to look):
And here is how it looks after my upgrades:
The link to the page on my website so you can see the code is here: http://sv2.hepcatsmarketing.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=10598&action=edit&message=1
The second example is of one-fourth columns (nested within the two-third column portion of a custom post type) using the custom layout “itinerary”.
I was able to line everything up properly, but there is a lot of extra space between rows. This is to display the hotels for each city visited during the itinerary.
Here is an example of how it previously looked:
And, here is the link to the page on my website:
Please let me know your thoughts.
I just switched to the new columns short code on one of the custom post type itineraries, and my problems with the wrapping of the sidebar disappeared. Am I correct in assuming that the only way to change to the new short code on all of my pages and custom post types is to do so manually?
If so, that is a huge amount of work for me. Is there a way to switch back to the previous version of the short codes? Any other suggestions?
I remember now that I also updated the TB short codes plugin. Could the problem that I am having with the columns be related to your switch from the two_third / one_third convention to 2/3 1/3?
On the issue with the itinerary (example #1), you need to scroll down all the way to the bottom of the page (in preview mode) to see what I meant about the sidebar “wrapping” to the bottom. The image that you show in the example above shows the top part of the layout (which works ok), but the content that should be to the right of “Overview” is displaying at the bottom of the page. I uploaded a draft printout of how the layout should be (in black & white) so you can see what should be to the right of the Overview section here. http://s1.postimg.org/v45jwamj3/Custom_Post_Type_Tour_Itinerary_Layout_Example.jpg
On the second issue, with the Galapagos ships, the first row should only have two 1/4 elements, since there are only two “Large Galapagos Ships”. The second row should have four 1/4 elements, but the third and fourth 1/4 elements in the row are wrapping to the next line. I uploaded an image of a draft that I had in my file here http://s28.postimg.org/z2atq49a5/Galapagos_Cruise_Ships_Layout_Example.jpg
The problem that I had was with scrolling the text editor…
By the way, I installed the wp max submit protect plugin, and the plugin did nothing…
Before I get into the issues, if I download the previous version of the layout builder, should I deactivate the new version first? Or, will the new one be deleted when the previous version is installed?
In terms of the issues that I am having…
I am using columns of 2/3 and 1/3 to build many of my pages and custom posts, with the 1/3 portion being used similar to a sidebar (which gives me more flexibility).
The first thing that I noticed was that the 1/3 portion was appearing at the bottom of the page, similar to what would happen if the overall width of the page had been reduced.
The second issue that I noticed was that in trying to edit pages/posts with custom layouts, there was a note that read “This page’s layout is currently synced with the template selected above, which can only be edited from the Templates page”, which was hard to understand conceptually, since I was using the “Content from Current Page” element on the custom layout. I tried to edit the page in text mode and the cursor was jumping to the bottom of the page. Further, the text area was not expanded to how the full content as per the change in WP 4.0.
The last issue that I noticed was that (in testing things out), when I clicked on blog post categories and tags, I got this error message ” Warning: array_merge(): Argument #1 is not an array in /homepages/10/d279234953/htdocs/sv2/wp-content/plugins/types/embedded/common/toolset-forms/bootstrap.php on line 260″. It is unclear to me whether the latter message relates to the layout builder or “Types” plugin update.
If you can tell me how to send you a message outside of the forum (for security reasons), I can send you my login details so you can see specific pages that I am referring to.
Thanks for the follow up and additional suggestions. The best solution that I found was using the Gallery Slider with thumbnail navigation only – and without alignment or columns. I have over one hundred hotel pages with sliders of varying sizes, and wanted to keep it as simple as possible.
