Thanks, have disabled all the non-essential plugins and it is now below the threshold so at least Postman SMTP is activated again. Thanks for your support, I appreciate this is not directly a barely Corporate issue.

Yup, tried up to 160M but makes no difference.

Thanks, I had already tried this to no avail but just tried again with debug turned on with 96M & 128 M but it is still showing the 67108864 bytes exhausted error. I guess I’ll need to try to get the host to increase it but I’m a little confused as <?php phpinfo(); ?> is showing memory_limit as 128M. If 128M is already allocated should the WP_MEMORY_LIMIT not be able to utilize up to 128MB?

I guess the fact that it worked with the Twenty Fifteen theme just means that Barely Corporate uses more memory?

    Thanks.

    Thanks for your prompt response.

With WP_DEBUG turned on getting the following warnings at the front end:

Notice: wp_register_script was called incorrectly. Scripts and styles should not be registered or enqueued until the wp_enqueue_scripts, admin_enqueue_scripts, or login_enqueue_scripts hooks. Please see Debugging in WordPress for more information. (This message was added in version 3.3.) in /home/shalomco/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 3622

And at the back end (with Postman SMTP active and blank screen):

Notice: has_cap was called with an argument that is deprecated since version 2.0! Usage of user levels by plugins and themes is deprecated. Use roles and capabilities instead. in /home/shalomco/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 3570

With Postman SMTP inactive the 2nd line re Wordfence disappears.

    Thanks.

Thanks, have just added the code to functions.php and it does appear to have resolved the issue. However as this is disabling updates can you please post here when the Envato issue has been resolved so that we can re-enable updates?

    Many thanks.

Thanks for your reply. I had this issue on 2 servers – the site was hosted on a shared host but I copied it over to a test site my own VPS yesterday as I suspected the issues were server related but got exactly the same results. I have enabled WP_DEBUG but am not getting any errors and nothing in the error_log. I did clear the cache after disabling all plugins and am still getting the same issues.

I’m happy to give you access to the test site if you want to have a look (but you’ll have to change the IP address in your Hosts file to access it).

    Thanks.

What I would like is a widget provided with the theme, similar to the Genesis – Featured Post widget, that could be used to display 3 posts from a selected category side by side in a single 100% wide column area, that would show the content as formatted in your demo with a 266x99px image above a text excerpt with a built in read more button pointing to the post.

I know you can achieve the same result by manually creating the content but considering the whole point of using WP is ease of use for the client, it is much easier for then to create a post than format the HTML, and each time they add a new post to the selected category, it would automatically appear in the content area.

It can also be achieved by using an external page but then you have to format the page with a 299 wide image at the top, add a read more link etc, and each time you want to add new content you have to change the page it points to inthe Builder. A plugin as outlined above would be much simpler and more user friendly.

I’ve just spent hours trying out various featured post plugins but none of them are suitable. Unfortunately several enhanced Genesis plugins on the repository require that the Genesis framework is activated.

There’s no confusion. As I said, I imported the sample content into a test site to see how the content was constructed and found it was just HTML based raw content so was able to reproduce this in the site I’m developing.

Don’t worry, i imported the sample content into a test site and see it’s just raw HTML content. A little surprising, I would have thought you would provide some plugins to create the content in the right size/format in the same way that Genesis do?

Thanks but all it says is “Go to the Builder page and create a new custom layout. Use “Barely Corporate Homepage” as your layout’s starting point. Configure your element settings, including selecting your custom slider in the slider element, and save the layout”.

I’ve done that but don’t know what content types to use or how to reproduce the demo…
