Hi
My client uses XP and latest version of IE.
I can’t replicate the problem he is having but basically in IE since updating the theme the widgets have shunted down and don’t side on the right handside of the content. I’ve used Browser stack and the only way I can replicate what he is seeing is by selecting XP and IE7. I’ve told him it will not work nor is supported if he is using IE7 so he’s assured me he has upgraded his browser.
Has anyone else encountered this issue, is there a bit of custom css that would resolve this?
I did the usual of deactivating plugins and re-activating them all.
The website is: http://www.libertyleasing.co.uk/
Hello,
Most likely your client accidentally turned on “Compatibility Mode” in their IE web browser. It’s very common mistake because IE puts the button right next to the URL of the current web page. And by default, this will then make it so that specific webpage always shows up as if it’s in IE7.
When they view their website, they just need to click the Compatibly Mode button again to turn it off.
Hi Jason
Thanks, I did mention this earlier on as I was aware of this issue.
He’s coming over tonight with his laptop so I will check for myself personally.
I don’t suppose the builder has caused any issues at all? Was wondering to rebuild the page or not.
Thanks again.
Sean
If the issue is only on a specific page using a custom layout and not on standard pages, posts and archives, then it could possibly be from something you’ve done in the Builder. But if you can’t reproduce in IE yourself except for IE7, it seems like Compatibly Mode is the only rational explanation.
I’ve shown him the compatibility button. The problem is at his work they are on XP so I’m not sure if that’s the problem?
Not sure what I could have done in the builder, I’ve kept it pretty basic, nothing clever going on as it wasn’t needed for what they wanted.
If there is nothing else that can be done, I’ll just leave it at that and re-iterate the points about the theme not being able to support before IE7 and be aware of the compatibility button etc.
Thanks again.
