upgrade from 1.1.5 fr 2.1.0 to current version- best practice?

Hi

For a myriad of reasons, we are vastly behind on upgrading our Akita theme. Since there are significant changes here and 2 framework upgrades, do you recommend doing this upgrade in steps, or just going from what we have to the most current right now. (Of course, with help from your posts on how to upgrade …)

We are hoping to keep the stress as low as possible – when we upgraded our alyeska site a while back, there was a LOT of redoing to get it looking the same (due to our customizations) and we want to minimize that effort.

Don’t worry, you’re not too far behind. You don’t need to upgrade in steps. You can go straight to the latest version. Here’s the article you want to focus your attention to:

If you’ve been making code customizations, and doing them properly from a child theme, it would obviously be a good idea, as with any update, to test that child theme against the current version in some sort of environment that isn’t your live site.
