ParticipantSo on out homepage, our themeblvd sidebar post grid widgets work perfectly, as you see here
The widgets are ‘Recent WFPF Media’ and ‘Recent Sponsored Athlete Media’
But if a user is linked to one of the single posts, or clicks through themselves, they dont work

Is there a reason for this?
Thanks!

KeymasterThey seem to work when I look at your site? Did something change since you posted this? Or is it that on the single post, there is no featured image links on the thumbnails? — That is the only sort of strange thing I’m seeing.

ParticipantHovering over the images on the single post, they do not show the hover overlay or click through to the linked media. On the homepage however, the sidebar widgets do hover and link correctly.

KeymasterWhat happens if you disable the jetpack comments?

ParticipantWith jetpack comments disabled, the problem persists :-/

KeymasterHm, something is weird with the markup of the images. Do you have any kind of plugin installed that has something to do with featured images? Or loading images? Modifying images?

ParticipantWe’ve got
EWWW Image Optimiser
BJ Lazy Load
Jetpack (Photon)
SEO Friendly ImagesThose are the only things I think are working with images. I tried disabling allof these plugns but it didnt fix the issue :-/

KeymasterIt’s kind of hard to assess your site because you’ve got everything minified and compressed. Are you using the most current version of Alyeska? Are you using a child theme? Are you sure you haven’t edited any media functions from your child theme like
themeblvd_get_post_thumbnail()
?I can tell you’re at least using Alyeska 3+ just from looking at your site, but the behavior you’re seeing in the thumbnails I can’t make sense of unless you’ve got an old version of that
themeblvd_get_post_thumbnail()
function — I’m wondering if maybe at some point you copied it to your child theme’s functions.php to edit as a pluggable function and then forgot you did that?October 30, 2013 at 7:52 pm #12706scottb23
ParticipantYeah we’ve got 3.0.2 but using a child theme as I use a few custom functions and the CSS to make our social icons bigger. I’ve turned off the compression for you for a momment, so hopefully you can now see the stuff better?

KeymasterSo, none of the custom functions in your child theme’s functions.php have anything to do with thumbnails? Would it be possible to get a login to your WP admin to look closer at what’s happening? You can send it through My Account > Submit private info here on the support site.

KeymasterSo it looks like all of this has to do with the Theme Blvd Featured Image Link Override plugin. With some of the recent updates we’ve made to how thumbnails are displayed, not all of this jives just right. I’ll need to get in there and re-think how some of that’s working in the plugin. It’s sort of a difficult task because I have to make it so the plugin works for current users and previous users.
If this is a need-to-fix right now kind of thing, you could deactivate that plugin and go to the individual posts, and turn on the setting to link them to their posts, and everything should work properly.
I think another quick fix to the issue would be to set Appearance > Theme Options > Configuration > Featured Image Link Override > Single Posts to “Yes, apply the above override to single posts, too.” — It doesn’t look like you’re actually using featured images on a lot of the posts, and so this shouldn’t really make much difference.

ParticipantWow thats interesting! Atleast its meant you can diagnose the problem and hopefully figure it out! Thanks for the temp solution too, it should mean a few tweaks to a couple of posts but going forward it should atleast keep everything working! Thanks a bundle!
