Slow loading Website

Hi,
I am setting up a new website with the Barely Corporate theme to replace an existing website. The existing website will still be in use until the new one is completed. I have exported all the WP files from the original site and imported them to the new site. I’m noticing that the original site is loading very slowly. Is it possible that the export/import had something to do with that? I don’t think so since they are in different sub folders on the host but just checking to see if this could be the cause of the slower loading.

Hello,

Is the old site running on WordPress and does it share the same database as the new one? I can’t really imagine that the new development site would slowing down the current live site, if the new dev site is just sitting there not getting traffic and not sharing a database. Have you thought about maybe contacting your web host and asking? Who knows, maybe you could get some insight on the subject from a real server savvy person.
