shortcodes within code

It seems I don’t get this system totaly. I’m trying to call info box shortcode from the code (changing the content-grid.php apperance so each post would be enclosed in an info box). If I try to do echo directly in the file, it just outputs the text. I have also added echo as a function to functions.php and called the function from content-grid, but that doesn’t work also (obviously, since it’s the same thing). Is there another place I could put this in?

If I understand what you’re saying, you’d want to use WordPress’s the do_shortcode() function.

For example —

<?php echo do_shortcode( '[example foo="bar"]' ); ?>
