The search box disappears when our website is viewed on a smaller device – that is when the menu tabs disappear and it reverts to mobile mode.

Is there a way to have a search box visible when viewing from any device – when the screen is any size?

    Hello,

No I apologize, but in this theme, the header search does not get shown on mobile. Maybe you could put the WordPress search widget in your sidebar or footer? That might be one workaround you could try to make sure there’s always a search box.

Thanks Jason for the rapid response. I’ll give the Relevanssi plugin a try. Unless you think it does not work well with Alyeska.

You know, I’ve never heard of it so I can’t say. But feel free to give it a try! 🙂

Gave up on Relevanssi plugin – couldn’t figure it out since I’m pretty inexperienced at stuff like this. I did install the “Search Everything: WP plugin and put a search box in footer. Not the best but at least I’ll have a search function for mobile users.

I am a volunteer webmaster for a nonprofit and we use a free WP template “Esplanade” which has a search box visible at all times even when accessed from mobile devices with a small browser window.

Is it possible to do something like this for Alyeska?
