The posts that used to populate under the categories under blog don’t populate any more and nothing posts to the main blog content either. It does however show up on the home page. The website is http://www.thinktradethink.com. Thanks for all your help!

    Hello Benjamin,

It looks like you’re using some kind of page template that is not part of the theme? What is this? Or is this from an old version of Alyeska or something you created? You should be using the “Post List” page template for this.

    Jason,

I changed all of the blog pages to Post List. The three categories under Blog are still not populating with their posts. The categories are Market Commentary, Trading Methodology and Trading Psychology. I’m looking at all of my posts and they all have a category associated with them. Any ideas how I can get it populate in those category blog pages?

You need to add the “category_name” custom field to each page with a value of the category’s slug.

You may also find this plugin helpful, which adds all available custom fields for working with our Post Grid and Post List page templates into a meta box of user options when editing the page.

    Jason,

Thanks for all your help so far! I still cannot get the categories to populate correctly. I installed the Post Template Options Plugin and I placed the category slug into the category_name field. I put market-commentary in the Market Commentary Blog Page but it still says “Apologies, but there are no posts to display.” Any other suggestions or thoughts to rectify the situation?

    Sincerest Regards,

Hm, there’s no reason it shouldn’t work. I’ve tested this again and again on my end. Try adding a custom field with name “cat” and value that is the numerical ID of the category.

And is there a reason you’re not just linking to the category archives that WordPress already sets up?
