Posts using the builder don't display full post, only excerpt

I have created layout in the layout builder. I am using the post list and pull from one category. There is an option to either use an excerpt or the full post. This will not display the full post, only the excerpt regardless of which setting I use. Is there something I can do with this or can you fix this option?

Well, I turned off all the plugins and turned them back on, it’s working now. No idea what happened, I’ll have to keep an eye on it. Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.

Nope, still not working. I closed the browser, cam back to the site. I don’t know if it’s a conflict. Let me know if having access to the admin would be helpful or not.

What I have found is that the choice of excerpt or full post in the builder does not override the theme option of full post or excerpt in the archived post section. I want excerpts for some of my posts, but I have another category, testimonials, where I want to have full posts on the archive page for that category.

The layout builder is used for creating a custom layout for a specific static page. So, that custom layout isn’t going to connect to your WordPress archive pages or anywhere else on your site.

This page you’re linking to is not a page with a custom layout applied; it’s a WordPress archive. So, nothing you would do in the Layout Builder would effect this area. The setting that cooresponds to this area on your archive pages is at Appearance > Theme Options > Content > Archives. Does that make sense?

Thank you, I do understand what I did wrong. I didn’t link the page I had created in the builder to the menu, I had, instead, linked the category to the menu. It’s working now and thank for explaining it.
