Partner logos element

There is something wrong with the Partner Logos element. It doesn’t work. I managed to add logos once, then I deleted them and tried to them add again but now the logos won’t be added anymore.

It doesn’t matter if I delete element and section, resave and add them again. No logos appear anymore.

You might want to check it out. Perhaps it’s still on your list of todos.

Try this: Create a new layout that is empty and just has one section. Add a partners element with a few logos and save the layout.

Does it now work? If so, I can explain to you in more detail tomorrow when I’m at a computer. This means your issue is due to a basic server setting most likely.

Tried your suggestion but it didn’t work at all unfortunately. I created a quick ScreenFlow where you can see it. The video is only available for you though.

Hmm, can’t see the video. Is it maybe set to private or the wrong URL?

I am having trouble with the Partner Logos element, also.

It isn’t letting me add new logos to the slider. If I start with one of the existing layouts that includes the logo slider, I can add to the logos that are already populated into the slider, then I delete all of dummy logos out so that just mine show up. However, if I try to add additional ones after deleting the dummy logos, it won’t let me add anything. Likewise, if I try to add the partner logo element to a page (an empty one), I can’t add any logos to it. :o(

    Advice?

Ok. The video should work now.

@mike-se Ok, thanks for the video. This isn’t what I thought you meant when you originally posted. But I still can’t reproduce on my end. What web browser are you using the video? Do you have any third-party plugins installed?

@mmaurek Is your issue essentially the same as in the video @mike-se posted? See: https://vimeo.com/116639852 — where when you’re editing the page’s layout, the images simply do not insert into the Builder interface? And same questions to you, also: What web browser are you using? Do you have any third-party plugins installed?

Also, to both of you, what happens if you use a different element with similar functionality? Try a “Simple Slider” element, and can you insert images? Or is it the same as when you use Partners element?

I’m using Firefox on Mac but also tried Chrome with the same result. Only have Gravity Forms which I removed, but still same result. The simple slider works just fine, over and over again.

Is this something up online somewhere I could possibly login to? If so, I’d love to check it out and get to the bottom of it. You can send the login info through My Account > Submit Private Info here on the support site.

Ok, I think I’ve figured out the issue. Out of your batch of logos you’re inserting, if one of them is smaller than 200px in width, the images don’t get inserted. Exactly why this happens, I’m not quite sure yet.

All of your image logos appear to be smaller than 200px width, and so this would explain why you’re not seeing it with the “Simple Slider” element. At first this threw me for a loop because both elements use the identical option type.

You seem to be right. I reproduced what you’re saying. Bigger logos then, for now.

So I think I’ve got this squared away on my end. If you want to implement, here’s how. Replace this file in your Jump Start theme at /framework/admin/assets/js/shared.min.js, with this new one:

Make sure to clear your browser cache, and does this solve the issue for you?

Thanks Jason. That did the trick. Works fine now.

Awesome, that was a tricky one.

Yes, I’ve been getting asked this a lot, but I knew immediately it was because the image sizes were too small because the same issue happens on the sliders in the Template Builder.

It might be nice if possible to have an error message that simple says, “Image size is too small for this element” or something like that, and maybe some text on the Logo Slider interface that indicates the minimum width required for the logos. (200px?)
