Page Builder : How can we merge content boxes

  • Creator
  • #7725

We have built out a site using Alyeska and everything is working pretty well – the one issue that we have run into is the page builder treats each item or module independently – our goal is to have all of the elements posted within a single container – vs. a different container for each element. I have attached a picture of what it currently looks like and what we are looking for… I am not sure if this is a simple style update – or do we have to change how things are output some how?

    Thank you for your time!

These would just be CSS customizations you’d need to make to the theme.

For CSS changes, it’s a good idea to use a tool like firebug or Google Chrome’s built-in developer tools to locate them and then put the edits either in your child theme or in the “Custom CSS” option on your theme options page.

Right now there are various elements that are styled differently, which it make is sort of hard to answer your question just in general.

But to start you’re essentially just going to want to find an DIV like .main-content that surrounds the area you want to target. Then, apply a white background color, maybe add some padding, round the corners, etc.

Then, you may have to sort of dig more into your specific scenario and style elements within this larger container to fit more nicely. Here’s some more info on styling builder elements:

Also, here’s a helpful tutorial on how to use Firebug – The only thing I’d suggest not doing is actually making edits to the theme’s CSS files, as it shows at the end of that video. However, the video serves as a good introduction to Firebug and how it can be used to find what CSS is effecting certain areas of your site without ever digging around in any files.
