Main menu padding for buttons, fitting more menu items

    I created a new primary menu, but I have one item that goes to a second line. Is there any way to reduce the padding on the menu so that all of my items display on just one line?

    My site is currently in development mode so nothing can be seen by anyone not logged in.

    Thanks for any info.

    For CSS changes, it’s a good idea to use a tool like firebug or Google Chrome’s built-in developer tools to locate them and then put the edits either in your child theme or in the “Custom CSS” option on your theme options page.

    So, for example, you could start with something like this:

    #access li a {
        padding: 0 22px;
    #access li a.sf-with-ul {
        padding-right: 37px;

    Also, here’s a helpful tutorial on how to use Firebug – The only thing I’d suggest not doing is actually making edits to the theme’s CSS files, as it shows at the end of that video. However, the video serves as a good introduction to Firebug and how it can be used to find what CSS is effecting certain areas of your site without ever digging around in any files.

    Yay! This worked! Along with the post on how to reduce the size of the margins in the header, this has the top of my redesign looking exactly the way I wanted.
