Line Break in Post Titles

Hi Jason,
Sometimes we need to put line breaks into Post Titles so the layout looks good.
We used to use
and it worked for JS1.
Now it no longer works which makes me think that there is some code removing feature at work.
Can you please teach me how to overcome this?

All we need is any good method for the occasional line break in a Post’s Title (maybe a Page Title too).
Thanks,
-ss

Hi,

There’s nothing I can think of in the theme that would have anything to do with this. I did just try it for you in both Jump Start 1 and 2, in case there’s something I’m overlooking, and putting a
in post titles both saves and is outputted on the frontend successfully on my end.

I see. The Post Grid is where we are displaying the line breaks. For example it works here in JS1 (www.goldenruleproject.org) and when I upgraded and rebuilt the site to JS2, this no longer displays in the post grid (http://test.goldenruleproject.org) But when you go to the Post (Single Post) it does show the line breaks

It’s working on my end. I tried a blog, a post grid, and a single post and all are working.

Now, in the example you just showed me of a single post vs a post grid, you’re using separate posts to illustrate your point. The following post has the issue present in the post grid, but I can’t see if it does on the single post because I assume you have the title hidden. So maybe it’s something you’ve done specifically to that post? Try editing the title of the following post again in your WordPress admin, and re-typing your breaks into it. Assess what you’ve saved there in the title specifically on that post.

Sorry I was using a Redirect on one of those, but it actually does not work for either post in that Post Grid. If you look back on the home page, I now have both examples in the left column post grid, and then there is another instance below near the bottom of that same home page.
When we go to the single post, we do see the Title laid out with the breaks as we want them (as we typed them), but when we view the Titles displaying in the post grids, the Titles show the “
” as part of the Text of the Titles.

I will look again in the morning to verify this but I’m thinking what you’re showing is an additional side effect of something I’ve already fixed for the next update and that’s why I wasn’t seeing it on my end.

Upgrade from 2.0.3 to 2.0.4 fixed it. Thank you. -ss
