Please help! We’ve installed Aleyska on

We’ve actually replaced Complexity which has been on for a couple of years.

Since upgrading wordpress and installing this, when the new theme is activated, the following problems occur.
    1. When trying to edit pages you get a 500 server error
    2. Edit posts is a blank page, just white
    3. Wp ecom store sales page is blank
    4. Editing menus is a 500 server error.

All these stop when we deactivate the theme

We know there is a permissions issue on uploads folder, trying to get the hosts to solve this..

    Have you any idea why?

    Hello James,

A 500 error is what’s called an “Internal server error” — The only way to know what’s causing it is to check your server’s error logs. It’s impossible to really tell you anything without first knowing why your server is returning internal errors. This will generally result in some kind of issue with a configuration of your server, possibly a permissions issue (as you suggested), possibly some kind of memory error, etc.

I just looked closer at your site. Yikes, it looks like you’re using WordPress 3.0? Is this correct? That will definitely cause things to crash when combined with this theme. The current version of WordPress is 3.5 and the theme requires 3.2 or higher. And in the next update to the theme (Alyeska v2.2) it will require WordPress 3.4. — Really you should always be keeping WordPress up to date.
