Insert content in columns

Hi,

I am using a 4 columns layout for my home. I want to assign to each column a picture with a link to a page. I use the html code (example):

I save it and when I go to the home and refresh it the column is empty, it doesn’t show anything.

Whay is t? Could you please tell me how I should insert the contents in the columns?

NB: the same works perfectly at any widget area.

What exactly is the HTML you’re putting in? Please post your code snippet between < pre > tags so it will display in the forum.
