    Hello,

I have struggled for about a week with this problem but it doesn´t work … I installed WordPress 3.8.1 and the Arcadian Theme. After I follow the steps form your video titled “Sample Content” . I have 2 error messages from WordPress:

1- The first one is upload the “arcadian_full.xml” but when I did it it gives me back this message: “Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /usr/home/veritaliaymorir.es/web/wp-includes/class-http.php on line 1249”
    Screenshot: http://postimg.org/image/a50jj5wc9/

2.- Later I upload the “arcadian_widget_plugin.json” but when I choose “Show widget settings”, it only shows me 2 sides bar (left an right) but in your video there are 7 sides bar.

Could you help me please? Thanks in advance

    Hello,

Unfortunately, this is going to have to do with the settings on your hosting. If you need to this file to upload to your current site, they would need to adjust settings for you. It’s simply a very large file, and there’s really no other way around that.

The other sidebars come from the sample content you’re failing to import from your first question.

On a personal note, though, I would really recommend not starting your website by importing all of this sample content. I include it because so many people demand it, but I think it is not the best way to go about starting a site on an actual web host. This sample content is more useful as a learning tool within your own development environment.

If you’re trying to make a quick copy of the theme’s live demo and then go from there in editing a site on a live host, this is really not going to be easier for you the long run. The live demo has so much content that you’re never going to need. Your site is going to end up a cluttered mess if you’re working from that on the eventual live site.

Here’s how I would recommend getting started with the theme. —

First, locate your documentation file within your theme package and open it up in your web browser. Then, go to the Item Details page for this product on ThemeForest and look under “Homepage Setup”:

    http://themeforest.net/item/the-arcadian-responsive-wordpress-theme/1266406

Try to follow each one of these steps in creating the homepage like you see in the demo. If you get tripped on one of these steps, find the corresponding video tutorials in your documentation’s table of contents.

Once you’ve created a homepage like the demo, you will have essentially gone on a tour of the theme, and you’ll have a good understanding of how everything works.
