Getting Rid of Meta Data

    I am working in three themes, and I was imagining that I could turn all metadata off for a site. I see the Date, Author and Category showing up in Arcadian with no Theme Option switch or obvious solution.

    How can I get rid of MetaData in this theme for all archives and category post pages as well as the Elements in Builder like Post Lists?

    Thanks so much,
    -SS

    Hello,

    Make sure to checkout the screenshots for the Theme Options for every theme before purchasing as I place them at top of Item Details page on every product. No theme has identical options as another.

    The theme has no feature for this and so this will be a customization you’ll need to make. The reason is because this theme supports post formats for a more modern blog feel. So, every post format can have a slightly varied design.

    Content for each post, whether it’s a single post, an archive post or a single post, all come from files based on the post format. They’re all named like content-{post_format}.php. So, to customize any of these files and how they display, simply copy them to your Child theme and make your customizations. Similarly as I showed you here, just delete the blog meta function if that’s what you want to do.

    Note: If you’re just working with standard post formats, then the content.php is the file you want to edit.

    Hello can you please post this:

    ” Similarly as I showed you here, just delete the blog meta function if that’s what you want to do.”

    to this forum as it’s only letting me see responses for the Arcadian theme and your solution is in the Akita page.

    I just want to turn off the meta data on the POST LIST

    thanks so much!

    Below is my response copied from magicss’s mentioned topic — http://support.themeblvd.com/forums/topic/posts-show-metadata-when-viewing-a-category/

    ============

    Hello,

    This is a mistake within the Akita theme. The option that should effect this is Appearance > Theme Options > Content > Archives > Show meta. But as you pointed out it’s not working as it should. I’ll get this fixed in the next update.

    For now, if you’re using a Child theme, this is a pretty easy fix. Just copy content-archive.php of the main Parent theme to your Child theme and just delete this part:

    <?php themeblvd_blog_meta(); ?>

    ============

    In this theme, simply referring to a “Post List” doesn’t quite narrow it down. This theme uses different files for each WordPress post format (i.e. standard, image, gallery, quote, etc), no matter if it’s a post list, an archive, or a single post. So the content-{format}.php you need to copy and edit in your Child theme depends on the post format you’re editing. In other words, each post format has its own design and file.

    The default post format is controlled with content.php. So, for example, you’d copy it to your Child theme and then remove the bits that correspond to the meta info.
