Feature image vs inserting into post image

Just getting started with actually using the theme/site in anger now having spend some time building it đŸ™‚

So I am using the JetPack publicize plugin to push blog updates to Facebook. I posted one with an inserted image – http://motography.co/welcome-to-the-new-motography-website/ and then another one (since updated) with a feature image. When viewing the posted update to Facebook the ‘feature image’ version did not show any thumbnail image, which I thought odd.

Anyhow, I know that none of this really relates to the theme, but it lead me to this dilemma. How can I get the ‘inserted image in the post’ to also pop up into a lightbox view, as the featured one does?

    Thanks

I noticed the same thing as well. Is there a way to set the featured image as the og:image: so that Facebook will display the featured image when you ad the url to your facebook timeline?

This you can do by following this video:

And maybe this will help with pulling the featured image automatically for facebook:

Note: The article says it’s for the Thesis framework, but I went thought everything in the article, and it doesn’t seem anything there is actually specific to Thesis. It all appears to be just something you could do with WP in general.

Thanks Jason – I might just be able to use the first to solve the second đŸ™‚
