Custom Slide info?

    You cover the image slide and video slide in the documentation. There is a third choice ( Custom Slide ), where can I find information on that type of slide?

    It’s simply a blank block that you can put whatever HTML you want in for the content of the current slide for advanced users that want to do something custom. Using this will require knowledge of HTML/CSS. I’m not really sure what else there is to explain? Have you played with it?

    I am trying to add an image and the image has image maps – the image shows up but the links don;t work – any ideas ?

    <img src="HeaderImage_MASTER_4Images.jpg" border="0" usemap="#Map" />
    <map name="Map">
      <area shape="rect" coords="289,283,333,298" href="" />
      <area shape="rect" coords="798,68,899,83" href="" />
      <area shape="rect" coords="606,169,706,185" href="" />
      <area shape="rect" coords="802,288,900,304" href="" />

    What should be happening is that this markup you’re putting in shouldn’t be saving to the slider at all. If you were to refresh the slider manager after saving, you should see that everything other than the img tag has been wiped from your custom slides.

    This type of markup in general is going to get sanitized out of saving any text area in the framework. Here’s some more info on that:

    So, from your Child theme’s functions.php, you’d need to add support for these map and area tags something like this:

    function my_allowed_tags( $tags ) {
    	$tags['map'] = array(
    		'name' 		=> array()
    	$tags['area'] = array(
    		'shape' 	=> array(),
    		'coords' 	=> array(),
    		'href' 		=> array()
    	return $tags;
    add_filter( 'themeblvd_allowed_tags', 'my_allowed_tags' );

    I tried adding it… but I am not sure I am doing it right – can you provide a bit more step by step info.

    1) Install a child theme. Here’s the video on that:

    2) Then, paste the code at the bottom of your Child theme’s functions.php.

    You can confirm if it worked or not by saving the HTML markup into your slider, refreshing the page, and editing the slider again. If your HTML code hasn’t been stripped out, this has worked.

    So, that should then allow your custom markup to be saved to the slides of the slider, but from there, I’m not sure how you’re specific code is going to work.

    Now I am getting this error, when I reverse my changes? Help

    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘=’, expecting ‘)’ in /var/www/vhosts/ on line 63

    Take a moment, take a breath, and re-trace your steps logically. Obviously you haven’t reversed your changes, right? You’ve modified something somewhere, or you wouldn’t be getting an error. Have you made edits to any PHP files other than functions.php of your Child theme? What is now in functions.php of your Child theme?

    all sorted… was the editor parsing soon of the HTML and converting it to chracters. I edited the .php file via FTP and that fixed it. thanks!!
