Change Menu Font

  • Creator
  • #8874

    Another great theme, we’ve bought several.

    We’re not great with code (why we love your themes) and just want to be able to change the font used in the menu bar of Akita, figured there might be a line we can add to the Custom CSS box.

    You’ve helped us out with sort of thing in the past and would appreciate assistance again.

    Cheers 🙂

    For CSS changes, it’s a good idea to use a tool like firebug or Google Chrome’s built-in developer tools to locate them and then put the edits either in your child theme or in the “Custom CSS” option on your theme options page.

    For example, here’s how to target the menu’s buttons:

    #access li a { ... }

    And here’s how the font-size property works in CSS:

    Also, here’s a helpful tutorial on how to use Firebug – The only thing I’d suggest not doing is actually making edits to the theme’s CSS files, as it shows at the end of that video. However, the video serves as a good introduction to Firebug and how it can be used to find what CSS is effecting certain areas of your site without ever digging around in any files.

    Hi Jason,

    Thanks for the tip, but that doesn’t work.
    When I use for example #access li li { padding: 2px; }
    then the roll-down boxes get higher
    With 0px I have the same as normal.
    I want the roll-down boxes to be less high.

    Tx, Peter

    I’m sorry, Peter, but I guess I don’t understand the terminology you’re using and what you’re actually wanting to change. What I gave you above is an example of how you’d change that padding of the buttons. Please remember that support doesn’t include providing customizations.

    My mistake Jason.
    This reaction on wrong question page 🙂
