Using Mini Post List widget with page that has paginated post list element.

I have blotter posts on the footer to show 4 recent blotter posts. On my blotter page I have it set to show 5 recent blotter posts within the page. Throughout the site, the footer shows 4 recent blotter posts unitl I get to my blotter page. When I get there, it seems to show whatever the blotter page is set to, in my case 5.

I think this is a theme error. What do you think?

That is a bit of an interesting one, but I can’t reproduce on my end.

What happens if you remove the default WordPress recent posts widget from your sidebar? Does that have any effect on anything?

What exactly do you have set in the mini post list widget? Are you just using the options there in the widget? Or did you input a custom query string?

It did not make a difference when I removed the right sidebar recent widget.

I apologize, but I’ve tried everything, and just can’t reproduce any similar issue. So, unfortunately I’m not sure what to tell you on that one.

I had a thought on this. — What happens if you force the posts per page in the custom query string option?

So, in the configuration of the widget put posts_post_page=4 in the custom query option. Does that change anything?

That actually cancels it out and all pages now have five posts.

I apologize, but I’ve never been able to reproduce the issue to tackle it.

I think I have might figured out this problem. If I have a custom builder page with say a paginated post list – and it is set to get “All Categories”, then the Mini Post List Widget will get all post in the category chosen by the widget, even if I set it to get only 1. If I uncheck the “All Categories” on the builder page, and instead check all categories separately the Mini Post List works fine and will retreive only the number of posts set in the widget.
