404 page customize

Have some spare time this week and thought I’d customize our 404 page. I’ve used TB string swap to get the standard wording that I want with the built-in 404 page. To add some content, would it be as simple as copying the 404 page to our child theme and adding some content within it? Or, does customizing the page eliminate the need for string swap?

Is so, does the child theme require additional php statements to display this?

    Thanks,
    David

    Hello,

Yup, that’s basically it — You want to copy the file content-404.php to your child theme to edit. It’s a simple file, and you’ll see in there where those text strings you edited with TB String swap plugin are called with themeblvd_get_local().
