Hi Jason,
I’m using the Jump Start 2.0 beta version 2, and the 3D Carousel shows an option in the Sliders area, but when I try to add a slider using it, I get the following error:
Oops! Somehow, you’ve entered an invalid slider type.
Thanks,
A
Are you up-to-date with the sliders plugin? I removed the slider type all together in framework 2.5. This should be reflected in the sliders plugin, by not giving you an option to select it. If not, it’s an error in the plugin.
Yeah, according to my changelog, in 1.2.2, I removed it. So let me know what version you’re using.
It was a new install. Happens on all my freshly installed sites. I’ve been setting up little test and dev sites on MAMP and on my hosting account, so everything is freshly installed — no legacy stuff.
I am using Theme Blvd Sliders 1.2.4 and Jump Start 2.0 beta version 2. Here’s a screenshot of the Sliders interface:

Thanks!
Ok, thanks, I’ll make sure that slider type selection is removed (when paired with framework 2.5+ themes) from the next sliders plugin update so people aren’t confused. It being there for selection is just a mistake.
Okay, so in JS 2.0, there will be no slider options? I loved the Nivo because of the thumbnails option. Which slider will be used when someone creates a custom slider?
Everything is the same with the Slider plugin except for that I’ve removed that 3D carousel slider type, Roundabout by FredHQ, as he no longer supports it.
When you create a slider, you’ll still be able to select from Standard (flexslider), Nivo, and Bootstrap Carousel.
Sidenote: But you’ll notice that when you install Jump Start, that the Theme Blvd Sliders plugin is no longer a recommended plugin. As an alternative to using the plugin, you can use the “Simple Slider” element of the Layout Builder. This uses the Bootstrap slider, and also has an option for thumbnails.
Actually, I’m glad you mentioned that Sliders is not a recommended plugin, because honestly, I couldn’t find a good use for it yet in my class demo. I’m just using the Template Builder Sliders.
Thanks!
No biggie, but I still see 3D Carousel as a Slider Type option in the Themeblvd Sliders plugin with Jump Start 2.1.
Hey Robert, I’ve stopped supporting or updating the sliders plugin for framework 2.5+, as we’ve now reached 2.6. I’m planning for 2.7 to finally clean up the CSS and remove all the extra bulk that styles that plugin at all.
