Thank you – got it. I’ve cleared everything to transparent and started the build. BUT, there is some type of gradient light at the top of the screen. Any idea how to fix that?
I’ve checked all the elements. I’ve checked my images — nothing there. It’s coming from somewhere else in the theme?July 1, 2013 at 11:58 pm in reply to: slug/page name change & blank target for menu jump #9296
Yes! Thank you – both solutions worked.
Solved – found http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/theme-blvd-string-swap/
Since the only thing working is the thumbnail / excerpt setting, I think I might just go with that, finish up the site, put it up live, and then we can look at it from there if need be. At least then you wouldn’t be at such a disadvantage in trying to help me.
Hi – I don’t want the site to go live without it being done. So, that’s not an option for me because the site would be unusable. I tried the Post List option (not paginated), and that works just fine — shows the whole post and everything like I want. But when I change it to Post List Paginated, I get the double thumbnail and just the excerpt — even if I choose whole article. Does this provide a clue?
I reinstalled the parent theme (my site is built on a child theme). Still same issue. Would it help if I sent you the source code?
Hi Jason –
I have set up a “news” layout in the builder. In Featured Above I have raw content of the “news” graphic that you see on the screen. In the Primary Area, it’s a Post List (Paginated), one category chosen “Latest News”, hide thumbnails, show full content, 3 posts per page. There’s a Sidebar Right layout — that right sidebar has a tag cloud widget currently placed there.
On the “news” PAGE – I have just “news” in the title, the body is blank (as per your video), page attributes are no parent with custom layout template and custom layout being “news.”
I have not edited code. But earlier yesterday it was displaying properly but then changed to the current display. Is there a corruption?
I’m using Desktop Server and a .dev site — so it’s not live right now. Is there another way to get you site info?
Update 2: Well, the pharma hack was mostly in the parent theme. I went into “/public_html/wordpress/wp-content/themes/” in my FTP file manager and into the header.php and edited out the pharma code with a simple delete. Then, for good measure, I went into the SQL database and searched for some of the pharma keywords. In two files I found them. I don’t know much about this type of coding, so I did what I could … and we’ll see if it returns. Meanwhile, I do have Bulletproof Security plugin now, as well as WordPress Wordfence plugin which is also a security plugin. GoDaddy’s Web Protection didn’t even find existing malware on the site (before I deleted it, so that was a waste of money).
Update: I ran a scan at http://sitecheck.sucuri.net and know the exact pages and code that I have to remove. So, it’s just a matter of going into my file manager or the (WordPress database?) to remove the code. Any quick advice on how to find the pages within WordPress would be helpful. Thanks!
I’ve been hacked again. And this time there is no update to the theme. So, I don’t know how to remove the code or get it off my site. Do you know where in WordPress I would have access to the site files so that I can figure out what to do next?
Hi Jason –
To test, I created a simple version of the widget in HTML and it is showing. So, perhaps there is a problem with the widget or compatibility with the widget and a theme or other widgets.
In any case, I’ve gone ahead and created an HTML + CSS Custom to mimic what the widget was doing — and I’ll leave it at that. It was just for customer social media icons, so that was doable.
The pharma was not there in the beginning, so it is something that has happened in the past month – not originally there from the download, like you say.
I’ll let you know if it happens again. Thanks!
