Ok so I noticed that the correct side bar shows up on the blog page but if you click into the article the custom sidebar isn’t there and it defaults back to the main rightside bar

look here and click the read more button and you will see the sidebar change

Awesome option 1 worked perfectly, are there any draw backs to do it this way?

yes and I have a blog post written and it’s shows up on the blog page, just my custom widget doesn’t
