WP UI Conflict

Posting here to see if anyone is successfully using the WP UI accordion plugin with their Alyeska theme. After I loaded the plugin, the homepage slider in my theme stopped working. Researching the WordPress forums, there seems to be potential jquery conflicts in WordPress 3.5. I did post there too. My slider works fine when I deactivate the plugin. Wondering if anyone here has overcome the problem? The plugin itself is great but will have to go if no easy fix is available. Failing a solution, any advice a good accordion for general page content like here: http://timmudd.com/hfs/clients/ ??

    Thanks in advance, Mike

    Hello,

I apologize, but I’m not sure about the issue with the jQuery UI plugin. However, the theme does already come with a toggle shortcode you can use.

This won’t work like a true “accordion” but in the next update when the theme moves requiring this shortcode plugin, there will be an accordion feature added and the toggles will look like this:

Thanks Jason… I thinks the toggles just might do fine for time being. A few questions:

    1. Does wrapping a simple stack of toggles in an [accordion] offer any added functionality/benefit over just identifying the last toggle with [last]?

    2. My primary reason for wanting to use the WP UI accordion was that it allowed me to create URLs to control which accordion section was open depending on the page link was selected by the viewer. Do you know of anyway to do this with these toggles?

A true accordion will close when any other toggle in its group is opened. In other words, on a set of toggles wrapped in the accordion shortcode, there can never be more than one open at a time. — That’s the only thing adding the accordion shortcode does.

Also keep in mind this is something for the next update to the theme, and not something that can be used now.

Apologies, but no I do not.

Jason… have you set a timeframe for release of the next update? It would be great to make use of the shortcode plugin you mentioned, in particular the [raw] shortcode. In the mean time, do you have any suggestions on how to avoid WordPress reformatting html?

Sorry, but I don’t have any date or time frame to give you.

However, you already have the [raw] shortcode with your theme that you can use. This isn’t anything new.
