WordPress 4.2 update – header background missing, customizer doesn't work

    Hi Jason,

    After updating to WP 4.2 today, my header background is gone – it’s just white now. Also, changing link colors anywhere, either in your admin or the customizer has no effect.

    Font sizes are also not changing.

    I did install the latest version of Akita: 2.1.7

    I’ve currently got an update to the theme (v2.1.8) in the ThemeForest queue that will fix this issue. It should be live within the next 12 hours, so you can update on your site.

    The links are supposed to be #8fa77a but they show up blue

    How did you make this update? Something doesn’t appear to be right with how the files have been updated on your server. Are you using our WordPress in-dashboard update system? Or did you make the update manually somehow, like through FTP, cPanel, etc?

    I can see that your style.css reflects version 2.1.8, however your styles are being outputted in the <head> of your site in a way that is not possible with the updated version’s /includes/theme-functions.php file.

    wordpress is updating automatically on my client sirtes. When I checked this site this morning just randomly because I ‘m updating the video files the background had disappeared and the links were blue. I hadn’t updated the theme at this point.

    After I saw your update I downloaded the theme update, unzipped it and manually overwrote the theme using ftp.

    But before I did that the links were blue, not green. After the update they are still blue.

    So, something happened when you updated the files via FTP. Not all of the theme’s files were updated properly. Specifically, check this file of the theme on your server not matching what’s in the update you downloaded from ThemeForest:

    /includes/theme-functions.php

    … The update to this file it was fixes all these issues in WP 4.2, and it’s not applied on your site.
