    Hi, I have UberMenu. How can I get it working properly with this theme? Everything seems to be working when I activate it except the non-selected menu items. There is this vertical pattern over top. I’m thinking some styling conflict maybe. You can see what I men here: http://i40.tinypic.com/348nfva.png

    Thanks

    Hello Jarrod,

    This is a 3rd party plugin; so I don’t know if there’s a whole lot I can do in terms getting it working perfectly for you. However, it appears there might just be a minor CSS conflict there. If so, maybe we can nudge in the right direction. Do you have a link to the issue? There’s not really much I can tell you from just the screenshot other than that.

    This should get you started. Throw this in your Child theme’s custom.css as a starting point.

    .style_slate #access li {
    	background-image: none;
    }
    .style_slate .menu_style_classic #access li a:hover {
    	background-image: none;
    	border: none;
    }

    Hi, that’s it, works as expected. Wow man, thanks so much for the quick response, it is much appreciated.

    I want to take take a moment and say it is very refreshing to have a company that really cares and responds, not having to wait many, many hours and/or days for a reply. In a time where support is really messed up across all industries it is nice to see someone doing it “right.” Cheers!

    I’ve experimented with maybe 4-5 themes since I purchased Akita, but in the end I found my way back to it because it “just works” and with minimal fuss. Any custom modifications I was able to get it done easy enough and I’m not a web developer (I am a game developer). So I say to you my friend, keep doing what your doing bro.

    I shall strive to have the same level of quality and support for my company’s products and services as well.

    Thanks again.

    Although still being worked on, our basic site is now online. Thanks again for a great theme and wonderful support.

    I’m experiencing the same problem; I’m using UberMenu for a site with Alyeska and it’s working fine. I’m attempting to use it with the most recent release of Akita and am getting the vertical style issue.

    The thing is, I believe many of us love your themes – and great plug-ins like UberMenu – precisely because we’re NOT crack CSS folks. The issue that I’m concerned about now is ultimately updating the site with Alyeska to the latest version of the theme because it will break the instance of UberMenu there; I’m also struggling to understand why the fix you mention above is not working with the site that I’m currently configuring with Akita.

    Can you offer any suggestions on what I’m experiencing here:

    @Anji

    Were you able to figure it out? Your site is looking good on my end.

    Hi Jason,

    Yes, I think I’ve got a portion of the challenge solved thanks to the CSS you provided – my apologies for posting before I had done a bit more tweaking – but I have a couple of additional questions:

    1) Ubermenu works beautifully for a site in which we’re using the previous (not latest) release of Alyeska, both on desktop and in the mobile versions. Couldn’t be happier with how well it worked with your theme! Using Ubermenu’s “vanilla” skin allows for the normal Alyeska background to show through but also supports the icon placement in front of each menu item.

    It also adjusts/degrades but still displays really nicely on mobile devices.

    2) However when using Ubermenu with the latest version of Akita, there’s still a small divider image remnant to the left of the menu on desktop… and on mobile devices, the menu version displays with the header background color behind it instead of the menu background. That means that the links can’t be easily read.

    I’d appreciate any help you can provide. Have a great day!

    … there‚Äôs still a small divider image remnant to the left of the menu on desktop

    Give this a try:

    #access .access-inner { background-image: none !important; }

    and on mobile devices, the menu version displays with the header background color behind it instead of the menu background.

    Maybe you could try just giving UberMenu’s toggle a background color like:

    #megaMenu #megaMenuToggle { background: #fff; }
