    Hi,

I created a custom menu and placed it in the right sidebar. (links to pdf-files). I’d like to find out how to set the target attribute to “_blank”, so it opens the links in a new tab. Currently it opens the links in the same tab.

    Thanks!

    Hello Kathrin,

When you’re working with WordPress’s menu builder under Appearance > Menus, there are actually some additional options that a lot of people don’t know about. In the top right corner of the screen, click the “Screen Options” tab. Under the title “Show advanced menu properties,” there should be an option to turn on a “Link Target” attribute. Then when you’re editing your menu items there will be a box you can check for links to open in a new window.
