Static Home page with slider featured above

With the alyeska theme, how can I keep the home page to be a static page, and add a slider featured above

Hello,

You would use the Layout Builder on your static page. You’d select “custom layout” under the page templates. From there, the Builder interface will appear above the standard page editor. You can insert your slider, as well as the content of the current page, both as elements in your page’s layout.

In the documentation that came with your theme, there’s a really helpful video series that covers how to use the layout builder.
