Slider no longer working

    Hi there,

The slideshows that were generated in Complexity 1 using [slideshow category=”slug”] are no longer working on one of our sites. It can tell that there are x number of slides and adjusts the nav accordingly, but the images themselves aren’t loading in any browser (and the source code doesn’t include a call for those images). Any idea what the issue here might be? I’d be happy to replicate the slideshow manually rather than with a shortcode if you can point me to where I can find that code.

One of the pages in question: http://www.egretboats.com/?page_id=96

    Cheers!

    Jenny

    Hello Jenny,

I have confirmed that both the slideshow shortcode and homepage slideshow both work on the latest version of WordPress.

So this means that something else must have gone awry with your slideshows. Have you tried actually going to the slides in your WordPress admin and making sure the featured image for those slides are still set?

Yeah, I checked out the back end on the slides and slideshows. I got a fresh install of everything on a local server and it’s working fine, but creating a new slideshow with new slides on the live site recreates the same problem, so I’m kind of stumped as to what it could be. I’ve even tried deactivating all my plugins, with no luck.

If there isn’t anything else I’m overlooking, I guess I’ll have to just hardcode them in, as inelegant as that is.

    Thanks for your help.

Aw, it’s because you’re using an old version of Complexity. This was something fixed a really long time ago.

Ooooh, gotcha. Unfortunately the dev before me did a bunch of edits to the core theme code so I can’t just do a straight upgrade. I’ll have to wait until I have a bit more free time to migrate out all their changes into a child theme, heh.

    Thanks again!
