The standard slider of the theme is nice looking, working nice, and do what slider have to do. But it display the hard crop version of images. This make “loosing” important part of the images. I just like to have a slider that behave to sho up the full version of the image width and full height NO HARD CROP ! how do i do that, or where to look (what file in wich folder) to look for and change it myself.

    Thanks in advace

    Hello,

I think this plugin will do the trick for you 😉

    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/theme-blvd-image-sizes/

Install that plugin, and there will be an options page you can change the width/height of images used in the slider along with their crop mode. After making the changes, this will effect the images you upload after that point.

Thanks, the plugin work fine… but here is what i have found. Editing the file slider.php in framework->fronted->functions. Line 173 changed from : $image_size = ‘slider-large’; ->to : $image_size = ‘full’; just did the job… will try the plugin anyway !

You don’t want to be editing any theme files like that or you’re going to run into trouble any time you update the theme. If you do require any code customizations, I’ve got a whole site about making these changes from a Child theme for us code wranglers: http://dev.themeblvd.com

But just in general, the way you’re making the edit isn’t the best idea because what you’re just doing is basically telling WordPress to use a crop size that doesn’t exist. — So when your slider is shown, WordPress is going through the process of checking for that crop size called “full” and since it doesn’t exist it’s showing just the default uploaded image.
