Sidebar widths

  • Creator
  • #14864

    I need to tweak the width of the sidebar and correspondingly reduce the width of the main panel. Please advise.
    (I tried using Firebug for this but was not able to see where the dimensions are set).

    Please see this article:

    Thanks for pointing me to this article. I now understand the grid setup. So I think It would work for me if the right sidebar were span5 and the main section span7.

    I tried adding this to my functions .php but did not see any change. I guess I just don’t understand this well enough. A little more guidance would be very much appreciated.

    function my_sidebar_layouts( $layouts ){
        $layouts['sidebar_right']['columns'] = array(
            'content'   => 'span7',
            'right'     => 'span5'
        return $layouts;
    add_filter( 'themeblvd_sidebar_layouts', 'my_sidebar_layouts' );

    That should be correct. What version of Swagger are you using? This would only work if you’re using Swagger 2+.

    Ahh – this is 1.0.7.

    Oh yeah, that version is from January 2012. I would get things updated, and stay up with the theme if you can. Here’s all the relevant info:

    Here’s the updated demo:

    Here’s the changelog of everything that changed in the update (see 2.0.0):

    And here’s an outline you can skim that outlines everything you need to be aware of that is different in the way the theme works:

    Here’s a video that will walk you through the basics of updating a WordPress theme:

    And then moving forward from this update, you can setup updates to stream through your WordPress admin:

    Thanks for all the great advice – very helpful. Your support is excellent.
