Showing a slider as soon as it's loaded

I’m working on a homepage that has a lot of YouTube embeds, and it seems the slider waits for all of the videos to load before appearing, even if I’ve loaded the page before (so the images should be cached).

Is there a way to have the slider show as soon as the images are ready instead of waiting for the page to finish loading?

It’s actually waiting for your entire site to load, as the call to flexslider() is on jQuery $(window).load(). This is the recommended practice in the FlexSlider usage instructions:

This item is actually controlled from inside Jump Start, opposed to the sliders plugin with the function themeblvd_standard_slider_js, found in /framework/frontend/functions/helpers.php.
