Remove Read More Button on Archive Page

How can I remove that huge read more button and just add “read more” text as a link before the end of the excerpt on the archive page? The big button takes up way to much room at the bottom.

Hello,

For customizations to the content of posts in an archive, you’d edit content-archive.php — You could just replace themeblvd_the_content() with WordPress’s the_excerpt().

Yeah that got rid of the Read More Button but how can I make that […] a link? I found where to change the text but the text still isn’t a link. Sorry not a WordPress person…

That would be a customization you’d need to make to WordPress’s the_excerpt() function. I honestly am not sure how you’d do that off the top of my head. If you search over on wordpress.org, you can probably find a lot of cool plugins that do various things in terms of editing the excerpt.
