Trying to reduce/remove the padding on image elements in Alyeska, particularly on the home page.

Also, I feel like this forum contains a lot of answers but that segmenting it by theme means you can’t dig for answers. Thanks!

I figured out that you have to edit the .min css as well.

Still wondering why you can’t access other support replies. I can see where the answers are but can’t access them. Kind of frustrating…

    Hello,

I would strongly recommend never editing any theme files directly because then you will be locking yourself in to not being able to update the theme in the future. These minified CSS files are not meant to be edited because with CSS you can easily override anything you want with your own CSS that proceeds it, which is the beauty of the concept of “Cascading stylesheets” 😉

For CSS changes, it’s a good idea to use a tool like firebug or Google Chrome’s built-in developer tools to locate them and then put the overriding edits either in your child theme or in the “Custom CSS” option on your theme options page.

Also, here’s a helpful tutorial on how to use Firebug – http://vimeo.com/20917974. The only thing I’d suggest not doing is actually making edits to the theme’s CSS files, as it shows at the end of that video. However, the video serves as a good introduction to Firebug and how it can be used to find what CSS is effecting certain areas of your site without ever digging around in any files.

And I apologize for any frustration, but we have several internal reasons why we need this to be the case. All customers only have access to the forums for products they have purchased.
