    Unfortunately, to my knowledge this is not possible through the standard WordPress features available in the admin for configuring permalinks. You’d have to accomplish through code customization from your child theme, unless there’s some plugin out there that does this for you.

    Our portfolios plugin allows you to filter the arguments registered with the post type. So you can filter the rewrite slug. It may be helpful to see the WordPress docs on this.

    function my_portfolio_item_cpt_args( $args ) {
    	$args['rewrite']['slug'] = 'horses';
    	return $args;
    add_filter('themeblvd_portfolio_item_cpt_args', 'my_portfolio_item_cpt_args');

    Make sure that if you’re making changes likes this that you’re flushing your permalink settings afterwards. That means you go to Settings > Permalinks in your WordPress admin and just re-save the page.
