Override layout

    How can i override the layout for categories or certain categories ? Also what are the layouts from which i can choose and can i add my own layouts ?

    Hello,

    There is no way to accomplish through anything in your WordPress admin, unfortunately. The only way to create a custom category display would be to create a custom category theme file from your child theme. This would be a customization you’d need to make.

    I’m not quite sure if you’re confusing this question with our Layout Builder, but the Builder we give you for the theme is only for static pages as discussed in Part 1 of your Layout Builder video series of your documentation.

    Thank you for the reply. The links are helpful. To clarify my question i was refering to the ‘sidebar layout’ which can be configured when using the layout builder or globally using the theme options.

    Aw, ok, thanks for the clarification. No, unfortunately there’s no feature for changing the sidebar layout based on various WordPress conditionals like archive, categories, etc. This could be achievable through customization from your child theme‘s functions.php, as explained in this article:

    I think one of the examples there is actually pretty close to what you’re asking.
