My license expired, how do I renew my current license without ordering a whole new one?

    Hello,

Just login with this same “iphoenix” account over at wpjumpstart.com, and purchase another license. Your purchase will be linked up here in the same way. You won’t have to do anything except put your new license key into your existing sites for automatic updates.

    Hi Jason!

Is there any way (in the future) we could keep the same license key even after a renewal, and perhaps even have automatic yearly payments? I have used JumpStart on quite a few sites, in the future I’m sure many more, and it would be nice not to have to update the key on all sites every year?

    http://support.themeblvd.com/forums/topic/renew-jumpstart-license/ šŸ™‚

I think updating through WordPress admin should be removed. Also for plugins from .org site. All of them. Will teach people to check changelogs, encourage testing or more manual work. Learn from mistakes too. With that comes more knowledge and so everyone wins.

Actually I think even installation through WordPress admin should be removed šŸ™‚ For themes and plugins. Convenience must bend over to info. WordPress does the opposite and that is stupid.

Recurring payments can make sense if hot on payments, or just having a lot of them!, but making it easy to auto-update is different. Tell that to Google, Mozilla and now also WordPress! – but in context of custom sites build on Jump Start, I think mostly a bad idea.

Also if I was dev. I would not say good bye to a way out of this:
Thanks for the update I was highly encouraged to apply, it broke 10 sites of mine. What should I do now???

With auto-update you get idea all WILL be fine, responsibility is not really yours. But it is šŸ˜‰

Just found out I needed to update my Jumpstart license again — would be great to have notice of this in the future. (Perhpas a quick email?) ANY chance we could just have an update setup so we don’t have to go through all our amazing Jumpstart sites and update each one with a new code? (Like 23 sites … ARGH!)

    Hi Jason,

Is there any way to RENEW a Jump Start license rather than purchase a new license? The trouble is with so many sites over time using Jump Start, I have to login and change the license key on all of them. Other plugins and themes with renewable support/update have your renew and not get new license key.

Thanks! Maybe something to aim for next year.

    Hi guys,

I totally agree. A smoother renewal process is something I’m working on.

So now if your license is expired, you’ll find a “Renew License” link in both your purchase history and downloads section. Both links take you to the same place.

Please let me know if you have any problems renewing your license so I can get any kinks worked out.

Out of curiosity, I’m guessing you used the recurring payments module for EDD to do this?

I don’t use the reoccurring payments addon. This is actually what I use: https://easydigitaldownloads.com/extensions/software-licensing/

But how I pull all that stuff onto support.themeblvd.com is all a completely custom thing.
