In-Dashboard Updates

Now that I am set-up for In-Dashboard Updates, can the previous updates be pushed out so that I can update my site automatically? I am still running Alyeska Version: 3.1.5 and I see in the change_log that there is a more recent update available.

Apologies but I’m not sure I’m understanding what you’re asking. Are you not understanding now how to update your theme to the latest version through your WP admin? Or are you asking if there’s a way for updates to happen automatically without you doing anything?

No, this is not possible unfortunately. The theme essentially tells WordPress where to check for the updated files and where to download them from — but the rest is all handled by WordPress’s internal update system for updating themes and plugins.

I could be wrong, but to my knowledge there’s no feature of WordPress, in general, for theme updates to happen automatically. This is only for minor point releases to WordPress core where this happens automatically.

Yeah, while I can see the appeal of this idea in theory, as @johnmos suggested, I’d be careful with going a direction like this.
