Adding span html tags to Header Text

Enter a very brief piece of text you’d like to show below the social icons.

I’ve tried to place a tag to enlarge the text, unsure where this exists within the CSS. Can I edit this for size?

You’d need to expand from your Child theme’s functions.php what is allowed there. I believe the code snippet provided in the article on adding <span> is actually exactly what you’re looking for.
