Gallery Lightbox

Hi,

In your Alyeska theme, if you create a standard WordPress gallery, where the images link to their enlarged versions, the theme’s lightbox is automatically implemented.

On the aforementioned [link removed] (click on any image to see the lightbox)… You can see that multiple images by category are displayed – not all categories. So, if I want to display Laser Cutting only images related to laser cutting will be displayed. In Woothemes Canvas and others, this is fairly automatic – you just add photos to the post – is this possible with the Aleyska theme? If so, how? Also, would like to remove link to page…

No, unfortunately Alyeska doesn’t come with any kind of filtering or grouping by category in the lightbox.

When you display a standard WordPress gallery, it will just be one united gallery, and in clicking to the lightbox, you will see all gallery items. You’d have to setup different pages, with each page serving as a “category”, displaying its gallery items only.

The functionality you’re looking for is probably available via a plugin if you search around.

Hmmm – shame – I can’t find any plugin that does so. If you know of any please advise. Apparently, only a Woothemes feature. However, client wants to use Alyeska theme. Sounds like a good opportunity for someone to supply one…. 🙂

In our Jump Start theme, there is a similar sorting portfolio feature:

However, in both cases, unfortunately the filtering of categories doesn’t follow through to the actual lightbox popup.
