firefox and chrome displaying differently

Hi, i tried moving the navigation bar to the right of the logo instead of the current position below the logo by adding margin positioning, it displays nicely in firefox but on chrome, the first navigation item overlaps the logo. It also displays different colors on different browsers when i try to change the background color.

I added the css in custom.css of child theme.

I solved the problem by adding css compatibility to the different browsers.

How do you remove the extra space at the right end of the navigation bar and the last separator at the last navigation item? i.e have it to fit the entire width of the navigation bar in all browsers including iPad.
