Featured Image Links in Posts

Within each post there’s a very handy option to make a featured image link to it own post, which is great. But unfortunately that also makes the featured image thumbnail within the post have a link…to itself – which looks a bit odd. see here for an example: http://woodpeckerdesigns.co.uk/garden-portfolio/a-small-contemporary-garden/

Is there a way of removing the featured image links within posts, but retaining them everywhere else, ideally by adding a line of code to my custom.css file?

So, do you have any featured images that don’t link to posts? If not, you could use this plugin to automatically set all featured images to link to their respective posts. This would actually speed up things moving forward and creating new posts.

And then the kicker here is that it has an option to not apply that override setting to single post thumbnails.

    That’s one approach.

Another approach could be to hide the featured image from showing on the single post page from under the Post Options. Then, if you want an image at the top of your post, just put it there. You can even give it the class “pretty” so it appears similarly with the frame around it.

Thanks once again Jason. That’s precisely what I needed. Great support there!
