    Hi Jason,

Don’t you need some more work to keep you busy?

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/theme-blvd-featured-image-link-override/

I’m sure you know exactly what I’m going to say below. Mostly I’m just wondering if you have an ETA on updating this for JS 2.0. I do use it on almost every site. It’s so handy!

So, the current issues are the CSS for the Featured Link Image Override isn’t matching up with the JS 2.0 Featured Image Link hover CSS (hand cursor instead of pretty arrow), and the Featured Image Link (everywhere) option on the Edit Post page isn’t picking up on the Featured Image Link Override preference. Oh, and somewhere, it was throwing gobs of errors.

Anyway, let me know if that’s in the queue. Thanks!

Looking forward to Beta 3. Woot! I have so many fun sites to build coming down the pipe using all these amazing features.

    A

    Hi,

Ok, I updated it today. Update to 1.0.5 and give it a whirl. And the plugin is getting a bit… well, convoluted… trying to get it to work with all these different versions of themes. So I’d give it a test in one of your sites using an older theme, as well.

Thanks. Oy, that’s hard to get it to work on all the themes. Does it make sense to make it a theme option in JS 2.0? It so common to need to be able to decide how the images link. I can’t think of a site I haven’t used the plugin on or been asked about how to set that.

So, here’s the update on the update with JS 2.0:

1 – It completely wrecks the formatting of the mini post grid – images are HUGE – definitely not mini 🙂

2 – It works fine with the mini post list

3 – On the regular post list, it is modifying the height of the images (ie they aren’t square if you activate the plugin), but the issue of the hover state and other CSS styling is resolved.

4 – On the post grid, it’s doing the same thing as on the post list and effecting the height of the images, so you can’t get an even grid. If you turn the plugin off, the grid is fine.

Thanks! Hey, are you going to the LoopConf in Vegas? I just heard about it. Looks kind of cool. http://loopconf.io/

Sounds like the issue is all the same in each scenario — simply that the correct crop size isn’t getting passed through to the function. I’ll get it fixed.

And no, I still don’t think I want it to be a default feature because it just doesn’t fit the logic of what’s already setup in the theme, without making a few changes. It’s a difficult option to change because it’s a piece of meta data already saved to every post of people’s sites. Those post/page options have to be handled delicately.

And LoopConf looks cool, but I shouldn’t be going anywhere until I get the product FINALLY published. But did I tell you I’m going to Denver mid April? My fiance is observing a deaf school there, and I’m going to tag along.

Thanks! Yes, get your product finished, by all means 😉

DM me on Twitter when you’re coming. I could meet you in Denver if you have time. I live in Boulder, which isn’t far.

Ok, so I remember what I did with this plugin. On the filter for featured image in Jump Start 2.0-beta2, the $size doesn’t get passed in for the image; so there’s no way to know what it is.

However, I’ve passed it through in the filter for the next Jump Start update, and the plugin is setup to handle it. So, not at this moment, but don’t worry, you’ll have this plugin working again soon with the next Jump Start update.
