Dynamic Widgets

    Hi,

Apparently, the Dynamic Widgets plugin requires that wp_head() is called but I understand that the Akita theme does not do this. Is there a workaround?

    Cheers.

    Hello,

The theme definitely does call wp_head() — It’s just not visible when you open header.php because it’s hooked to themeblvd_head(). So, the plugin should work just fine. Give it a go.

On a sidenote, if there was no call to wp_head, this would break so many things. So, I assure you, it’s running. 😉

Thanks for the quick response! I’m not having much joy with the Dynamic Widgets plugin so it’s possible that there’s a conflict elsewhere. Cheers.

I’ve never used this plugin, but from reading, it sounds essentially the same as the Widget Logic plugin?

Widget logic is a great plugin that should work fine. I’ve got an older video on using it before our themes contained this sort of functionality by default:

Also, the theme comes with a built-in system already to handle creating custom sidebars that can be assigned to whatever pages you want. Checkout the “Widget Areas” videos series in your documentation.

Yep, I’m also using Widget Logic. I think I’ll forget about Dynamic Widgets and get my hands dirty with actual code. Thanks for your assistance. 🙂
