Custom Post Type in Widget Area Assignments

    Hi –

    I’d like to add a custom post type to the Widget Area assignment options. So, after Posts, I’d like to have my custom post type (lawyerprofiles), and then the list of published lawyer profile posts to select from. Any way of doing this?

    Thanks,

    Patrick

    Hello Patrick,

    No, I apologize, but this is not currently possible through the features of the theme. This will be possible in the next theme update, but right now this is the only way I could think of that you could do this form your Child theme’s functions.php through customization:

    function my_frontend_config( $config ){

    	if( get_post_type() == 'your_post_type' )
    		$config['sidebars']['sidebar_right'] = 'your_sidebar_id';

    	return $config;

    }
    add_filter( 'themeblvd_frontend_config', 'my_frontend_config' );

    OK, no problem. Thanks for the help. Decided to stick with categories instead of custom post types anyway and getting the same functionality in general.
